2013 Reflection

Class for me this year was one-hundred percent because it felt like I still had some strategies from last year plus I'm in the same class with Mrs Squires. Physical fitness for me was eighty percent because running around the reserve was fun. Maori lessons with Ms Titio was probably ninety-eight percent cause I loved the new Waiatas and Mihis we learned.

The thing that was one-hundred and twenty percent for me was the literacy and creative rotation because I loved movie making with Ms King and writing about different topics with Mrs Lagitupu. Net-books were the same but for some reason I feel guilty for playing games sometimes.

Starting at eight-thirty in the morning was exhausting for me because I usually wake up at that time. I just like singing in the morning with my class and hearing other people’s Mihis. Detention didn't really effect me in any way because I only went like three times. Friends from this year are probably Tevita, Mateo, Alex, Tau and Josh. My favourite subject is reading and I reckon that twenty-thirteen for me was five-hundred percent.

Reflection: 2013

Having a net-book compared to paper and pencil is one-hundred times better. I think with the internet disconnecting sometimes is probably
because of minor issues. Net-books are bad and good because it helps me with maths with maths site such as Xtra-math, Maths-whizz and Sumdog. With reading I go to Oxford-owl. Then for writing of course I go to Google-docs.

I think the special thing I’ve learned from my teacher this year is probaly when you are doing Ratio for maths you have to keep on using the same strategie to make it to the answer. Like there was a ratio for boys and girls. For every five girls there were five boys so if there was fifth-teen girls how much boys would be there. First I did three times five equals fifth-teen. So I did the same strategie and did fifth-teen plus fifth-teen equals thirty.

Khi khi has taught me to use Terminal and download software safely on line. Tau had taught me basic facts and Tevita taught me how to be dodgy on our net-books. I only took my net-book home at the beginning of the year but I only taught my sister how to play Super-Tux a platform type game which is pretty smart for a four year old girl. I also taught my mum how to use the internet better and she’s only thirty years old.

Camp highlights

The ride to Rotorua was my highlight of the first day of camp. I also liked the nature walk we had because Hare and I took a short-cut and beat our buddies. But the best of all was dinner which was chicken casserole, steamed rice, glazed carrots and a mix of peas and corn and butter heaps of butter. I'm sharing my
cabin with Mateo,Josh,Richard and Hossanah. But I hated it because Mateo and Richard keeps on farting.

My highlight for the second day of camp was the was the fresh thermal creek we swam in. The Agrodome show was cool how they learned the sheep to go to their right spot on the stage and how the dogs jump onto the sheep and leaps from side to side. After the show we got to feed the baby sheep's and watch the ducks fight. But best of all was milking the cows it was fun and funny. For dinner we had nacho chips and a meat nacho dish which was yummy.

The third day was wet and we went for a one hour bush walk around the blue lake. Then we had a swim in the blue lake in the rain which was fun. Then we went to the pools and we were aloud to do bombs there was even a trampoline. For dinner we had roast chicken with roast potatoes and peas again. I had two plates and the rest of my cabin group had four plates which is a big appetite.

Swimming T4

Swimming was fun and exciting at first but when we really swimed I was focused and serious and ended up in the the level 1 class in the leisure pool. First we learn basics such as kicking, breathing and pointy toes. First we did head looking up kicking from wall to wall. Which was pretty easy but tiring. Then we did some head under water kicking to wall to wall which was quite hard for me.

Then we started with arm-strokes with head in water. Easier because arm-strokes make you faster. Then we started swimming side-ways that meant half our head had to be in the water while kicking side-ways. I love swimming side-ways because I always come first in that swimming style. Our instructors are Tobey,Haley and Irene but my favourite was Tobey because he was fun plus he’s a boy.

Then we did a swim where we do ten kicks with our head in the water then we spin around onto our backs then start kicking and floating looking at the ceiling. Then finally we have a race at the end with any style of our choice my choice was running in the water but I came last of course. After I finish I go jump in the cold pool where the advanced people swim to get cooled down.
