Diabetes

What is diabetes you say? Well, diabetes is a disorder in which you have too much glucose in your blood and not enough insulin. The pancreas, the gland close to your stomach, either can’t make the insulin or the insulin doesn't work. One of it’s most important jobs is to make the insulin, a hormone that allows your body to absorb the glucose so that your body can have energy.

To prevent diabetes you have to be on a diet and do exercise daily. Too much sugar is not good for people with diabetes because you can lose your limbs and eyesight. You can even lose your life through a heart attack, sleep apnoea or a stroke. You have to test your blood glucose level everyday. If it’s too much it means she/he missed an injection or ate too much sugar. Sometimes too much exercise means they have to eat something because their blood sugar level might be too low and they need more energy.

There is a healthy food pyramid for diabetics. It says to have small amounts of sweets, fried food, ice-cream and soft drinks. It also says to have moderate amounts of eggs, cheese, milk, and meat. And finally have a large amounts of fruit, vegetables, bread and cereals. This is also an important lifestyle to keep to prevent diabetes. So stay healthy everyone.

League fun!!!

Walking up to our league teachers I was shivering with excitement. Our tutor was James and he wanted us to recount what we did last week, we done communication and team-work last week. First we learned grubber kicks which was fun but also complicated at the same time. We then took two steps back and kicked from a longer distance. Finally we learned the chip kick which is the most favourite to boys my age. But we also had to go two steps back again which was pretty easier actually.

Next we played a game where two people will be on attack and one on defence it was fun but dirty and slippery at the same time. As I was running beside Alex (Attack partner) he went to grubber for me but he failed because Jayden (Class mate) kicked it away, what a fail. I was defence now and Frankie (Class mate) was running with the ball but when I was just about to touch him he passed it to Gabriel on the wing.

The lesson end and everyone was pumped and happy.

Welcome Will.i.am

As I was sitting thinking of the pop-star Will.I.am himself I couldn't handle the excitement that was flying around everyone's minds. We talked about how we are going to greet him and we also were practising our song which we well sing to Will.I.am. When he arrived in the hall everyone thought they were dreaming and everyone was talking about his cool glasses that had swagger.

He sat down and it was time to scream Welcome Will.I.am so we screamed and Mr Burt asked him was that loud enough and he said it was good. He then told us about his life and his career which was inspiring and unbelievable. He then gave us a huge amount of money of a cheque.

Then we preformed two items then sang a beautiful song called strive to succeed!!!
